I heard the front door close and the car pulls out of the driveway. I quickly made my way to the bathroom and slowly undress.
I never thought about my life after retirement. It seemed like something that would be farther down the line and I would always have time to plan ahead, but I was wrong.
I work on oil rigs, which means I am usually in the middle of the sea for months and months at a time with no access to my girlfriend or anyone else for that matter.
This story is not one I am particularly proud of, but thinking back to that moment still makes me hard and I figured you would all love it, so, here it is.
In 2010 my wife and I bought our first home, it was an old and simple place that was ‘lacking love and attention’, or so the realtor put it. In reality, it was neglected and needed complete gutting and repairing before we could put our own stamp on it and live there in harmony.
